1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create a Wishie account, we collect:

• Email address (required for account creation)
• Display name (optional)
• Profile photo URL (optional)
• Authentication tokens from Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, if you choose those methods

1.2 Wishlist Data

When you create and manage wishlists, we store:

• Wishlist titles, descriptions, and cover images
• Item names, descriptions, prices, currency, and purchase URLs
• Item images you upload or that are extracted from product pages
• Item reservation status (who reserved an item and when)
• Whether a wishlist is public or private

1.3 Event and Reminder Data

If you use the events and reminders feature, we store:

• Event names, dates, types (birthday, anniversary, holiday, custom)
• Reminder preferences (timing and frequency)
• Contact names associated with events
• Links between events and wishlists

1.4 Gift Exchange Data

If you create or join a Secret Santa or gift exchange, we store:

• Exchange name, budget range, date, rules, and status
• Participant names and email addresses
• Gift assignments (who is assigned to give to whom)

1.5 Product Information from URLs

When you add items via URL sharing, our app fetches publicly available metadata from product pages, including:

• Product title, description, and images (from OpenGraph tags)
• Product price and currency (from structured data)
• Site name

1.6 Subscription Information

If you subscribe to Wishie Premium, subscription management is handled by RevenueCat and the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We receive:

• Your subscription status (active, expired, etc.)
• Subscription tier and expiration date
• We do not receive or store your payment card details

1.7 Device and Usage Information

• Push notification tokens (if you grant notification permission)
• Anonymous session identifiers (UUID) for users who interact with shared wishlists without an account
• Affiliate link clicks: When you tap "Buy This Gift" on a shared wishlist, we log the retailer name, whether the link was affiliate-tagged, and the timestamp

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide the Service: Create and manage your wishlists, events, exchanges, and account
• Send Notifications: Deliver event reminders and exchange updates via local push notifications on your device
• Enable Sharing: Allow you to share wishlists with friends and family via links
• Process Subscriptions: Manage your Wishie Premium subscription status
• Generate Revenue: When you or someone viewing your wishlist clicks a product link, we may earn affiliate commissions (see Section 4)
• Improve the App: Understand how features are used to make Wishie better

3. How We Share Your Information

3.1 With Other Users

• Public wishlists: If you make a wishlist public, its title, description, items, and your display name are visible to anyone with the link
• Gift exchanges: Your name and email address are visible to other participants in exchanges you join
• Item reservations: When you reserve an item on someone else's wishlist, your name is recorded (but hidden from the wishlist owner to preserve the surprise)

3.3 With Affiliate Networks

When a user clicks a "Buy This Gift" link, the click is routed through an affiliate network. These networks may receive your IP address, browser/device user agent, and the destination product URL. We work with:

• Amazon Associates
• Impact Radius (Target, Walmart)
• Commission Junction (Best Buy)
• Awin (Etsy)

We do not share your name, email, or Wishie account information with affiliate networks.

3.4 We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

4. Affiliate Links Disclosure

Wishie earns revenue through affiliate commissions. When a product URL on a wishlist matches a supported retailer, the link may be modified to include an affiliate tag. If someone clicks the link and makes a purchase, Wishie earns a small commission (typically 1-8% of the sale price).

Affiliate links are labeled with a disclosure indicator in the App in compliance with FTC guidelines. The original product URL is preserved and accessible.

5. Data Storage and Security

• Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers in the United States
• All data is transmitted over HTTPS
• Passwords are hashed by Firebase Authentication (we never see or store plaintext passwords)
• Images are stored in Firebase Cloud Storage with access controls
• Local data on your device (preferences, session tokens) is stored using secure device storage

6. Data Retention

• Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active
• Wishlist data, events, and exchange data persist until you delete them or delete your account
• Anonymous session identifiers are cleared when you create an account
• Affiliate click logs are retained for analytics purposes

7. Your Rights and Choices

7.1 Access and Deletion

You can:

• View and edit your profile information within the App
• Delete individual wishlists, items, events, and exchanges
• Request complete deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us

7.2 Notifications

You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings. You can also configure reminder preferences within the App.

7.3 Public Wishlists

You can make any wishlist private at any time, which removes public access to its contents.

7.4 Subscription

You can manage or cancel your subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

8. Children's Privacy

Wishie is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete that information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App with a new effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
